Surprisingly repetitive for Mozart, in the middle, but still excellent as ever. It's interesting, that bit that commences at 1:45 is very similar to his 'Alla turca' piano movement, in one of his piano sonatas. Wonderful

Have you ever heard the young Karl Bohm, or Karl Bohm conduct FIDELIO? Definitely NOT funereal! I agree with you that some of his tempi in later life did tend to be too slow, but ALWAYS musical with a forward moving line.

if this piece is played to fast then it might just sound a bit like the romantic era pieces i feel but i am no expert
