She was a top sort, even with the "Blond Locks" , and was stoned on Skag the whole time. Amazing what having money does when you are a junkie! Still I love the Tunes

Glad you brought up this point and I think the answer was always no. No one ever cared that Debbie wrote all the wonderful lyircs and that Chris Stein and Jimmy Destri created some of the best pop melodies in music. The media was fixated on her looks, attitude and outfits. They were probably the most exciting and experimental of all the new wave bands in their days and yet I don't even know if they were nominated for a Grammy and to think Mariah Carey and the likes winning awards.

Tis true - Blondie sound better on vinyl - I think the songs were mixed for that, rather than CD.
