If you've never seen Steely Dan in concert, well, as of this date you're maybe outta luck. However, FIRST FRIGGIN RATE!! Must of had a 100 piece ensemble on stage for My Old School!

Look even further sugahface and you'll see Japan and China products everywhere you go these days. I found candles at K-Mart from Vietnam this Christmas! And shoes at Target from China. It's everywhere! I even found a sweater in JC Penney from Bangladesh!! When will it ever end?

August1977,
Yeah, things sure haven't turned out like we hoped they would. Kinda sad. I guess collectively, we as a people have made a mess of things. In spite of our dreams, things haven't turned out like we had hoped. I guess that's why this beautiful song stirs up so many different emotions. Even since the release of this song, the world has changed so drastically. Thank goodness some things never change, like the beauty of this song. I could listen for hours. It's a beautiful song.

Howard Jones does a pretty good cover of this, and announces to his audience he did not write it! The bridge is spectacular, actually.

Heard this on 'The Simpsons' and dug it, lucky my dad was in earshot and pulled out the LP for me, great song, great album. Donald Fagen is a solid man.

In the 50's we envisioned industrialisation and technology providing wealth and free time for people, who could have envisioned that the result 50 years later would be unemployment, usurpation and exploitation?

I had forgotten all about this song, I just heard it played on "The Simpsons" and knew I had to look it up.
