i love watching the haka, even if it strikes fear into my english blood, but i never really believe the none maori players really get the true meaning of it. it would be like an englishman seeing the true meaning of the bagpipes. This comes from an englishman who lived in new zealand for 3 years and who is now living in scotland, without trying to escape old blighty, and i love all 3 countries. borders are for the ignorant.

the haka is cool but does it serve any purpose anymore? The opponent knows they're going to do a dance, so instead of intimidating them they just amuse the opponent because it's "something they do" and it's "fun".

I think the Haka is one of the reasons the all blacks are so good...obviously they're very skillful but that Haka gets the adrenaline proper pumpin' I'm sure!

Y'know they're thinking of having an All Blacks game in the US maybe next year so you might get a chance to see them if that follows through.
