Why do people watch this video if they don't understand a word of it? I think those people are in some kind of denial, that's an awful waste of time... no matter what you say, without understanding the dialogue, this is not funny.

Anyway, I enjoyed it. Thanks for the upload.

A kid asks his dad to take him out and promises "as a man" not to beg "Buy me this, buy me that" but then just goes and puts his begging into different words and plays dirty strings so the father can't say no. Big deal. Btw, there was a mother mentioned in the beginning. 1:01 and 1:51.

It's like how you would see people doing any other stupid thing and just think "Why on earth would you do that"? Why would people watch a video they didn't understand to nearly a point of getting the humor and then comment about how funny it was? Makes no sense.

Maybe he did mention the mom a couple times, that really had nothing to do with the story though.
AmericanHikikomori (December 18, 2008 at 1:19 am)
He never talked about a mother. Maybe your love is shallow, because you don't even know what he's saying to know whether it's funny.
lucymia (December 18, 2008 at 1:44 am)
I did understand what he's saying, and oh my god, sue me for assuming there IS a mother who is not being mentioned and implying for the other users who don't understand, that this is some family activity.
I don't know why you're being so aggressive for a) it doesn't matter IF I didn't understand and b) understanding Japanese beyond anime slang level is quite common these days.
AmericanHikikomori (December 18, 2008 at 10:38 am)
*Shrug*, again, I just don't get why people watch this video if they don't really know what's happening. I'm not being aggressive, I would say if anything's aggressive it's your reply.

Also, I doubt most of the people commenting on this video could even understand the average anime show, you do have to know a fair bit to really, fully understand it (Like, beyond picking out 10% of the dialog). This is not much harder than a conversational anime to understand, just faster talking.

I love it - so funny - the story with the father and son!!! ^^

i love to understand it...anyone can translate this..?

He's impersonating various people. The point is basically a dad and his son going to some form of festival and the kid promises not to ask for candy and such, but does anyway. It's hard to explain why it's funny, but it is.

thx a lot for the brief translation!
