Sweetheart it's not anger I'm am giving you some knowledge, it's as if he was singing to the country itself and telling thru his eyes and his soul how he loved it, but you have to have soul to understand what soulfulness really means, but u missed it again. This mans music was about war, poverty, issues that effected every race. Never too late to learn. But I guess Roseanne Barr rendition of the National Anthem is your favorite.. Don't reply just think!!!

Well well, someones a bit angry about a stranger's opinion. Perhaps you need to learn that, if I am such a fool, my opinion doesn't matter... if so, don't reply.

There was no one more American than Marvin Gaye. This is not about being black or about Marvin it is how he expressed himself thru his music and the soulfulness that is embedded in him as an artist. You are the one that doesn't get it. Otherwise you wouldn't be the only negative comment on here. Do some research of his music and learn something!!!

As in racist? No, my best friend is black. As in American? You wish.
