ORIGINAL Elephant Painting
BackCan your elephant paint? Watch this elephant, rescued from abusive treatment in Burma, now paint a beautiful image of an elephant. You'll be amazed at how her talent unfolds as she carefully completes each stroke. Her mahout talks to her throughout the process as his gentle touch gives her confidence. She focuses on her work and seems to enjoy the approval of the audience and, of course, the sugar cane and banana treats. All of her training has been reward based.
So touched by their horrific backgrounds and loving personalities, ExoticWorldGifts.com now supports, "Starving Elephant Artisans" by selling their paintings so they can continue to have a new life in Thailand.
Some Thai elephant experts believe that the survival of the Asian elephant species will most likely depend on the good treatment of the elephants in well managed privately owned elephant camps. All of us would prefer that all of the elephants be free to be in the wild. For many reasons, that is not possible at this time.

u know what, i know that the elephant was probably taught how to draw that picture and that it may not even understand what it is doing, but i like to think that the elephant can see an elephant in that picture

I just love how on U Tube everyone thinks that they are a critic . so may people will watch a video about animals and start acting like they are an animal specialist, knowing all there is to know about elephants and the images they do or do not comprehend.

Human beings teach animals to perform tricks in order to entertain and get money from other humans. The elephants at this attraction are trained using techniques developed by animal psychologist Keller Breland for his attraction "I.Q. Zoo". The elephant making this painting doesn't understand it as an image- only humans perceive it that way. It can't make purposeful variations in what it paints- it just knows what actions it needs to perform in order to earn a reward.

Animals are artists and computers are full of knowledge. So what are humans? What is our contribution? (Don't say free will unless you know what you're saying. If you do, you'll realize we've been contributing wrongly.)
