Do You Love America? Patriotism vs. Nationalism in America

Maybe we should be more worried about who will do 'The Most' for America.
Far too often in America today, Nationalism is mistaken for Patriotism.
Mindless flag-waving, chanting of USA, USA, USA is not the behavior of a Patriot, but that of a Nationalist.

i agree with your views on patriotism and nationalism but disagree with what you say about the conservative/liberal rift. the traits that you listed as nationalist are those that you will find in hardcore conservatives. i cant remember the last time that i heard a liberal telling a conservative that he wasnt patriotic because the conservative was pointing out a way that the country was not living up to it's professed values.
