This is just beautiful. I had never heard of Philip Glass until I looked Yann Tiersen up on Wikipedia, where Tiersen is compared to Glass. I'm glad I did because this piece is so pretty. How moving!

Great piece, but like others, I am used to the other version. This is too clean and soft. The way Glass plays it is.....well the way he plays it sends a message by itself. Whereas this version simply portrays the song perfectly, Glass's version reinforces it.

I think this is a great performance
I watch it a lot
I was enchanted the first time I saw It

Her hand movement is quite queer. Maybe her style of hand movement has changed to a more fluid movement since this playing. Her hand movement is probably due to overemphasizing the beauty and importance of classical/piano. Maybe some Kraftwerk would 'loosen' her up a bit.

I prefer the way Philip plays it... this is nice, but it just doesn't have the same feel...

I think 1 and 5 are the best.

Oooh thanks for sharing that info! That's so cool to know :D

I'm going to disagree. She doesn't really destroy the piece as she is a women playing a piece originally made and played by a man. The hands are very different. Stylistically it sounds different... alot more soft.

You make it sound like you are a sexist, and just because she is a woman you like her performance of the piece.

The criticism on this is not due to the fact that she is a woman, even if a man played it this way it would still befall the same criticism.
