Jupiter from The Planets

Back

This is just about best version ever recorded (this is the version that everyone recommends), it's so precise and competent, and there are no mistakes that I can hear. This is a recording of 'Jupiter-The Bringer of Jollity' from the Planets Suite Op. 32 by Gustav Holst(1874-1934). This is Charles Dutoit conducting the 'Ochestre symphonique de Montréal', the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. It really works well with pictures of the planets, and Jupiter of course! Enjoy!

Maybe you played a more complicated version.

We played it in my 8th grade year, and now this year we're playing a different arrangement. The current arrangement is much more difficult.

very precise, but slow tempos and devoid of all emotion- I've never heard the chorale played so emotionlessly and percussive. And the trombones have a tendency to drag.

Your post was very intelligent and sophisticated; however, your username is MonkeyShits2. I don't know what to think.
