Its certainly not traditional ska nor two tone but it could be third wave. Except I like this and can't listen to third wave probably because most of its American. You really couldn't have The Selecter or Madness in Japanese.

You realize ska needs brass right? Which, they lack.
God I love when people don't know music genera's.

actually they are a ska band. best way to figure out if a band is ska has plenty to do with the sound of the guitar. of course a brass is very common (and preferable) in a ska band, but this band definitely has the ska influence. listen to the dead 60's (another ska band) no brass. you need to expose yourself to a wide range of ska music, there are very diverse ways of producing that ska sound and not exactly predictable as you are making them seem.

also if you are going to compare them to rock, listen to l'arc~en~ciel or the pillows, rock is nowhere near their sound. as for punk... though ska, rockabilly and punk have a huge relationship (as well as with the fans) again, not even remotely close to their sound. listen to thee out mods or lolita no.18.
