Derren Brown beats 9 chess players simultaneously.
BackThis is a video cut from "Trick of The Mind" series aired in the UK. The clip here is taken directly from Season 1 -- Episode 1.
This is one of my favorite segments done by Derren. It explains for the most part how he did achieve the feat, and the trick is quite clever. Don't get too hung up on the ending though; it's merely a trick.
I've got all of Derren's work on my computer, and if you're interested in somehow obtaining the information, email me at tranceriver@gmail.com and we'll talk.
Cheers

why don't he play to Kasporov , Kramnik , Visvanatham..Karpov ..??/
pudicio (November 20, 2008 at 7:35 pm)
I suspected he would play them against eachother at the start :) It's rather logical really.

wow amazing. so to Derren, it was just a game of memory.

Don't get me wrong his overall trick was outstanding and impressibve but he did not beat that guy at chess without cheating (note the way he did it would be considered cheating within the chess world, whereas he would see it merely as another trick)
VSL123 (November 19, 2008 at 3:06 pm)
so you don't know how he's cheating, but you would just say he's cheating?
stevetodd1 (November 19, 2008 at 1:32 pm)
I did tell you how he cheated, by using either Fritz (I personally use FRitz to analyse my games) or chessmaster (obviously moved signalled via a 3rd party, it's not rocket science especially for a trickster like him). Is he an internationally renowned chess player or a trickster? the answer to that should finally give you the clue to work it out
VSL123 (November 19, 2008 at 3:08 pm)
What the hell are you talking about!? You're telling me he used Fritz to analyse the person's game before the chess game, and the chess master uses the exact same moves without changing? Chess is all about adapting - if the chess player can't, then he isn't much of one.
If you can't give a VALID method of Derren cheating within the game, then don't accuse him.
