the fact that they stretched the intro to as long as it is relates to how persistent and determined the artist is in his intent to pursue the object of his affection.

I wonder if the bassist had/has to play the intro riff 100 times perfectly or if he just loops it. Beautiful stuff nonetheless.

I'd say looped. That's the usual aproach for anything that repeats more than twice. I feel sorry for the guy having to play that live... Love the intro though!

The intro is the best part of the song. Without the intro, it would just be another song. I listen to it like 3 or 4 times a day. Unbelievably inspiring/hypnotizing.

The buildup is utterly amazing in this song. It gives me so much time to lose myself in thoughts provoked by the amazing melody. By the time he starts to sing I've already brought myself to tears :P.
