You know that scene where she breathes underwater with the reed? It's impossible. When I was a kid I tried to breathe with a garden hose underwater. You can't go down further than about a foot before you can't breathe because of the water pressure.

You are so right on this one. This scene is up there with Vera Miles in Tarzan's Hidden Jungle, and that Rifleman episode, "Old Tony" where the girl from Leave it to Beaver, plays a cowgirl discovering quicksand for the first time. The actress' name escapes me, but I believe "Trent" is part of her name.

As far I can remember, professortheremin, the woman who was sinking was really actress Anita Lhoest, who played Joan Martindale (aka the Wild Girl) in this film... and DAMN she was excellent when she did this very scene indeed, even with her magnificent bikini combined with such a thick and hungry bog, which I bet have attracted QUITE a lot of quicksand fans these days, you know that!? ;)

As such, the deeper, softer, and creamier the mud is, the better this kind gets for any show or film!!!

For the record, I do not have a quicksand fetish at all. No. I just like watching quicksand scenes in general, especially classic ones that are really as good as this one, to be point-blank honest with you. The reason why is because they really struck me amazingly since I was young back in the '80s days. ^^

Since then, I have immensely studied the true meanings of quicksand for more than 15 years, and I was amazed to find out that it doesn't just suck you under like in the movies!! ;)
