but isn't Jesus considered to be God, if they follow the trinity? God in 3 parts: Jesus (the son) , the holy ghost and the father? I'm not actually religious i'm just saying.

Well first of all the West church is roman catholisism. I know because I am a catholic.

and there are depections of the father in statues with a triagle halo for the three parts of the triune GOD.

second the Eastern church has even more images then we do, they dont do statues, they have icons. The Greek and Russian Orthadox for example. I say that they are fairly nice depections, on the very thing that seperates the sancuary from the church, called the iconostasis.

Well, there are disagreements between the Eastern and Western churches. The East church (Roman Catholocism) takes the commandment of "No Graven Images" to include only depictions of god himself, and believes it does not cover, say, mary or Jesus. The Russian church believes the "no images" policy applies to ALL "divine" people.

That is the old testament, christ never said that we could not make an image of him. We use the image to reminde us who he was, its more so we can focus on him, not on the statue or painting. we pray to God and heaven not the statue itself, but the one it represents.
