It depends on what people mean by 'religious freedom'. When hundreds of christian missionaries take advantage of poor people, offer them money and help in exchange for religious conversion..and in the end no help comes really. Now that is illegal conversion.
Religious freedom is widely practiced in India and western people only take the rare cases to generalize the whole situation.

Buddy.. u r misinformed about the India part.
Some states have outlawed ILLEGAL conversions (that is conversions by force or allurement ONLY). In some provinces b'coz of massive scale of illegal conversions, now they also require you to inform the local authorities 30 days b4 changing your religion. Secondly, illegal conversions to ALL religions are banned (and not just Christianity).

These laws have been upheld by the Indian courts because they only ban ILLEGAL conversions or place minor regulations and do not significantly affect religious freedom. Additionally they apply to all religions equally (and are hence secular)
I don't understand why people in the West are terribly misinformed about Indian laws!

As far as the mobs are concerned - you will find religious fundamentalists even in the USA! One of the leader of the Hindu fundamentalists who burnt alive a Christian missionary along with his two minor sons has been sentenced to life in prison. Many attacks take place. But the criminal justice system does deliver howsoever slow.

This year alone, more than 2 dozen hindu fundamentalists have been sentenced to life for rape and murders of religious minorities.

Religion should be managed by government, just like self-willing slavery need to be managed by government, just like self-willing polygamy need to be managed by government. Religion should NOT be allowed to indoctrinate children, especially hatred. Christian churches need to stop preaching bigotry, hatred and lies against Chinese and Jews.

who said i was a christian? That seems like a stereotype of white America.

INEQUALITY. The US immigration policy openly discriminates Chinese. There is a *diversity* lottery program. China has the same immigration quota as Ireland. China's population is more than 1k times that of Ireland. All Asians together is 5% in the US. By favoring the Irish majority, what *diversity* is this program promoting?

It's kinda weird for a Christian to speak about religious freedom but at the same time not knowing the current situation in that country. I have lived in Malaysia before and what I can say that, flocks of Christian missionaries entered the country and offering money in exchange of religion. Is that a religous freedom? It sad but true.
