MrSteveutah, you are ignorant, and woefully so. If there is one rock group in the history of modern pop music that has probably never taken LSD then it would be Sparks. Moroever, Sparks are the personification of intelligent pop music and possibly the most erudite and witty lyrics in the history of pop music (and don't take my word for it, read their lyrics or see what many musical journalists have to say about Sparks). I've been a fan for over 30 years; you've thought about them for 30 seconds.

Absolutely amazing, the Mael brothers--and still producing some of the most innovative, cutting-edge music out there! Of course they couldn't get arrested in America, but were--and are--still beloved in Britain. Great stuff!

One of the greatest TOTP performances of all time. I was 8 at the time this came out and I remember the next day virtually everybody at school said "did you see TOTP last night" and you knew it was about this track. People were openmouthed.

It's a bit Sparks were viewed as a bit of novelty act as they were actually in a class of their own at the time and a big influence on New Wave acts 5-6 years later, which is why people like Siouxsie Sioux covered them.
