I so love this song and I love Cat Steven. I also feel ashamed to say that I was angry with him when he first became a musilim. I was a stupid and angry person then. I grew up spiritually since then.

I'm not religious either, I'm just a human but some seek humanity through religion. It works the same usually.
He's got a great voice, I liked him 30 years ago when I lived in Iran. Back then I didn't even know how he look like. I just liked Cat Stevens, John Denver, Billy Joel, and loved Garth Brooks type of country.

The problem is that those that seek humanity through religion sometimes alienate themselves. It is probably morality that they want, but if through religion, they end up with huge REQUIREMENTS they need from others, Aristotle was wrong.

Personally I believe one should not join any organized religion or party to achieve ultimate in humanity. Religions and their merchants not only require you to believe only in them they also require you not to believe in anything but their teachings therefore intentionally separating you from all others, resulting at the end to get further from humanity.
As a religiously independent spiritual person not bound by any party I judge everything only based on it's value toward humanity.
