They say that patriotism is the last refuge of scoundrels. Well, dismissing the other person's interest in a meaningful dialog is the last refuge of an idiot. If your premise is correct,the only conservatives qualified to comment on this matter are members of the Reagan Administration and the only liberals qualified to comment are members of the Soviet negotiating team. Historians and journalists tend to be liberal;this shapes their analysis. Same with conservatives, but there are few of them.

Reagan was a pompous clown whose credit is much worse than he actually deserved. Gorbatchev ended the Cold war, Reagan only brought the foundations of the current financial crisis and strengthened Islamic fundamentalism.

You fail to mention that Christanity was established around 2009 years ago, with it's moral point also established during this time period. As a result, this argument is invalid.
The true reason that I believe has caused Muslim extremists, is the fact that some statements in the Koran, can be interperted to share or have a dual meaning, and thus can allow for aggression. Furthermore, the fact that most Muslim or Islamic countries are developing, can also be a source of this extremism.
