hahahah... what a really substantive, thoughtful response there. instead of telling him why he's wrong and proving that Obama isnt racist, you just call him a loser. really nice job there.

Yep, because I've already decided that anyone with the opinion that Obama is somehow "racist" is automatically an inferior and to engage in rational debate is beneath me. In fact the only thing pond scum like that deserve more than having their pond taken away from them is to be dehumanized before an audience that knows how ridiculous their CULT OF INSANITY really is. RIGHT WING = MENTAL DISORDER!!!
BlackpeopleLOL (August 25, 2008 at 2:26 am)
But I have reason to believe Obama is in fact a racist. He either hates, or has an extreme disdain for white people. He referred to his own grandmother a "typical white person". How disrespectful. I wouldn't dare call my grandparents a "typical-ANYTHING"... right there he's disrespecting his family and thats offensive enough by itself. To call a person of another race a "typical ____", can you please explain to me how that's not racist?
fringefries (August 25, 2008 at 3:33 am)
This is the trick that everyone on the right wing uses. Engage in diologue that has nothing to do with the person as a whole and ask questions that are taken out of context. I'm sure this was his attempt at humor. It's ok that stereo types exist because to deny that is to deny our own humanity. He is using a characature which black people use of whites that is not intended to be hurtful, but to describe the humorous aspect of our differences by exaggerating it's inclusion of all rather than some.
fringefries (August 25, 2008 at 3:42 am)
When a black comedian says that all black people have bad credit, he does not mean that ALL black people have bad credit he means that all the black people in the audience that have bad credit will understand what he is talking about because either MOST blacks have bad credit or some have bad credit. There in lies the funny, exaggeration + truth = comedy. I know because I do stand up for a living. Therefore it is not racist but merely endearing and light hearted.
fringefries (August 25, 2008 at 3:51 am)
Obama is not a racist but unfolds his humanity by pointing out the we are imperfectly perfect. This takes time and wisdom to understand the world and it's imperfections made beautiful by their mere existance. This does not give license to inhumanity or cruelty and there are lines that can not and should not be crossed, but to my knowledge he skates right on the edge for comedic purposes and that is a sign of greatness and a celebration of our differences through exaggeration. Happy? Now go away.

Seems Jim's been getting a little to close to the Miracle Grow. Also, if I was as old as Jim I wouldn't be mad as hell, I be thankful. What is he 105?

nigelstewart, the member who posted the James Whitmore clip, makes reference to the character "Howard Beale" if you click on the "more info" tab by the date which I did not do the first time I saw the clip. However, he refers to a full transcript which I read. If Whitmore gives credit to Peter Finch or the movie Network (1976) for the verbatim quote, I did not find it in the transcript even though nigelstewart did give credit.
