SYNOPSIS:
The Book of Mormon claims to be "a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible." Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon declare themselves to be ancient, historical, and reliable rules of faith--the very word of God.
These claims have historically been taken on faith. But is there any evidence to support them one way or the other? Is it even possible to "test" a rule of faith? More to the point, is there any basis for placing one's faith in the Bible or the Book of Mormon?
It's an important question. It's an eternal question. This presentation puts the Bible and the Book of Mormon to the same tests. History, archaeology, textual criticism, and other disciplines combine to shed light on what is true...and what is false.
Truth never fears investigation. Faith need not--and should not--be blind. Discover for yourself which of these books is worthy of being called "scripture" and which is worth of your trust.

.Actually macain wanted joseph lieberman as his choice but he caved in to the religious right for whom he had contempt in the past when he called them "agents of intolerance" in 2000...so much for country first...poltical expediency is more important to john macain than what is best for the country..mitt romney would have been more poltically expedient but that same religious right would cringe at having a mormon a "heart-beat"away from the white house with his magic underwear and kooky beliefs.

Eh I was thinking about the Vice Presidential debate and it makes me laugh how the mormons thought that McCain would choose MUTT Romney for his VP but I think McCain is smart enough to know that having a mormon VP would be as much of a disaster as if osama bin laden were his vice president.. and McCain made the right choice Sarah Palin, shes smart shes pretty and shes NOT a mormon haha

..We know God spoke to THOSE prophets but why should we or anyone believe that he spoke to joseph smith, warren jeffs, thomas monson or even you?...How do we know all those persons were not delusional or led by satan?...you can "feel" your "burnin' in the bosom " bit for anything...even muslims and buddhists feel that for their beliefs..ALL the prophecy we neeed is in the Bible alone...no need to go elsdewhere...why open a door for satan or mental illness?..

geez, that is what ezekiel, Isaiah, any of the prophets claimed. Joseph smith isn't different from the rest of these. Only the time era is different.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will continue to speak to his children thru his prophets.

both the bible and bom sre myths. unless of course you have imperical evidence for 6 day creation, talking snakes, sun stopping, the exodus, talking asses (other than the traditional christians and mormon christians on here), living in a fish, virgin birth, walking on water, spontaneous death to life after several days by force of will of another person, levitation, and my favorite- water into wine.
