I actually sorted wanted to reply to myself. My personal opinion is that if its good music listen to it, who cares how its categorized.

knowledge fo sho. I don't think the deftones are emo, but i believe that they have taken some elements from the original emotional hardcore scene from the 80s, specifically the DC hardcore scene. Emotional hardcore comes from that scene as well as the general hardcore scene. I am not certain of course, so feel free to correct me, but both emo and to an a certain extent the Deftones, share similar roots.

I'm surprised to hear that. I met him 3 times and he was very nice each time. Kind of quiet, though, but very polite. Are you sure he wasn't just being shy?

chino is the biggest douche you will ever meet. i met him after a concert in chicago. i walked to a bar with him and he wouldnt even speak. for some reason the dude thinks hes god's gift. i will never spend another dime on that prick.
