The problem, I think, is that we've taken out the bluesy notes/chords. We're playing pop notes/chords instead. The result? Utter crap!

I disagree. I don't like any covers that sound exactly like the original, I much prefer when people take it in a different direction and that's what Ray does here. Fantastic.

Sorry, my comment was a reply to pentacaedro. I was talking about why music back then was great, but music today sucks. It's just the youtube boards are terrible - sometimes they show it as a reply, sometimes you have to wait a day for it to show like that.
