For putting himself in the public's view like this should be commended. He is truly an inspiring person.

Your point of view doesnt make any sense..youve got it the wrong way round..its not me..its him..im talking about him..im sure he wouldnt care if he didnt have..im sure most people wouldnt care if they didnt have it..did he ever do anything about people with diseases befor he contracted parkison?? NO did any of them do anything?? but because theyre entertainers as you say they start doing a lot of worlwide things..u.u bullshit they just do it to get the cure and help themselves to it...

He's from Canada. Why doesn't he show us how great Socialized health care is by getting treated in Canada? Regardless of who or what he is / was / will be...he should come out and tell us why he isn't going to Canada for his "free" healthcare...

THanks so much for posting this vid for us to see - Michael J. Fox was always my favorite actor - "Secret of My Success" is my all-time favorite movie and "Family Ties" is my favorite t.v. show. After Fox announced he had Parkinson's, it was only a few years later that I found out my mother had it, too - she died September 23, 2008 - she taught me so much about life - and she gave me so much strength, determination, courage, and hope in life - just by watching her embrace and endure Parkinson's

The first 20 minutes or so, there was a lump in my throat, and tears were slowly coming down my face one by one... to see what this disease is doing to this nice actor I've known and enjoyed for so many years. And his endless shaking was hard to watch. But as the interview went on, I was surprised at how I became accustomed to it, and could look past the disease. It's an ongoing hurdle he cannot jump, but he's still the same person. I hope they find a cure in his lifetime. God bless him.

Would you really care if he was'nt such an author or an actor??..again this is discrimination..in the next meaning of the paragraph you are only sorry for HIM not for thepeople with the disease..authors and recognized authors are human like the rest of us..and i'm sure they would'nt give a bullshit if the disease didnt affect them. If they find the cure and he is healthy again. I'm sure he would just go on as a great actor and leave all his help to people affected there, stationary.

I care because I grew up watching him. He was one of the background characters of my childhood in terms of pop culture. I don't know anyone personally in my own life with Parkinson's. But YES, if I did, I'd feel the exact same way, after having not seen them for a few years and all of a sudden there they were - riddled with the effects of Parkinson's.
I think YOUR point of view is discrimination. Like we shouldn't care just because he's an entertainer, and not our next door neighbor.

Most of the world doesnt care about things that dont touch them. Not long ago we hid our sick away out of sight because we didnt want to face our own weakness. No one wants to face the reality of life when the fantasy is so much more pleasing. But to say he is only thinking of himself is a small-minded outlook and I pity anyone who thinks that way. What he is doing takes great courage and anyone who cant respect that is blind.
