TEDTalks: David Deutsch (2005)

Back

Legendary physicist David Deutsch is author of The Fabric of Reality and the leading proponent of the multiverse intrepretation of quantum theory the astounding idea that our universe is constantly spawning countless numbers of parallel worlds. In this rare (and delightfully engaging) public appearance, he weaves a complex and captivating argument placing the study of physics at the center of our species' survival. The problem with David Deutsch's stance on global warming is that it doesn't address the primary goal of the global warming advocates which is to depress the the development of under developed countries and depress the economic prosperity of developed nations.

Absolutely fascinating. He basically summed up everything that actually matters to humanity, and should be in the central of public awareness. It's a shame that most of the world doesn't care at all about science.

May I just be a space hog here and say that we are in trouble, as humans on this planet. At No time in recorded history has it been like this. You either know this or you don't.

Only hope is to get together, discuss, try to form solutions ranging the gammut from self to societal. Ideas? Contact me, let me in.

"At No time in recorded history has it been like this."
now tell me one point in history where this sentence is not true! lol.

It isn't like going to the store in a vehicle, or by foot or bike.

Look at some of the (I know, I know) UFO literature/websites, they talk about craft that form a singularity in front of the vehicle. I wish I had those links handy, but I don't. (singularity = black hole)

So it's not a matter of going through space as such, in fact it involves time in a very intimate way, follow?

I am posting under the guise of my drinking alter ego. My real is bighaiku on utube. Contact me on either!

I think the He and I are soul brothers. Love his passion, did you notice how his voice elevated, when he got to the good stuff?

Read one of his books about 10 years ago, and it was like food for my mind. Physics plus consciousness equals pretty interesting, if you ask me.

Oops, he believes in the speed of light barrier: why? That is so 100 years ago.

It isn't a matter of going through space, but more of bending it, to put it all to simply. No, going from here to there isn't travel...

Intersting. I have a lot of respect for D.D. but I disagree with his stance on global warming.
