I was only 6 when I heard this song cos my dad used to play it in the living room every morning. I learned the lyrics and me and my dad sang it together during our family reunion. And now that I'm 23, I sometimes sing the song and actually feel it because I now know what it means unlike before, I only sing it because I thought it would be cool to sing a song with my dad :)

When I realized my young wife of three years was seeing someone else this song was an inspiration for me to wish her all the sweet things her life could find. Thirty five years later I still feel the pain, and still love listening to this absolutely beautiful song. Thank you so much for posting this.

Man this is how I know how we are all connected. I feel your pain though I've never gone through that, but have done that to someone else and I felt the pain I created come right back in my face. Karma is real and it's a bitch. So now I realize we are all connected and do my best to leave others be. If the planet could adopt the mindset I've come to have now.... One can only dream. I just wish there was no pain in life. Hearing your simple story along with this music just kills me man. God Bless
