The Dubliners - In The Rare Old Times

Back

From the video titled "The Dubliners' Dublin" which is like a documentary with Ronnie taking viewers on a tour of his favourite watering holes, and meeting up with the lads for a few songs.

The song "Dublin In The Rare Old Times" was written by Pete St. John, who also wrote "Fields Of Athenry".

So bomb again sweetheart and go with the others who kill you within your bombing. Maybe its in your KARMA, that you will do like this. But Nobody will understand an recognize you - so why you will throw out your life for nothing?

Three cheers to Ronnie an to Dublin! R.I.P. - best Soldier for Ireland you are. Enjoy the other side with your pretty wife and Luke, your true and faithful friend. And dont let the gargles dim your brain - side by side we will stand - the IRISH and the GERMANS

My dear sweet mother was raised by the good sisters at St. Josephine Bernadette Convent in Dublin. She used to tell of Dublin during these times, walking pass the Rotunda, the Column, the Met. Thank you and God bless you.

Makes this old Scots Canadian man wish he had seen Dublin town,Ronnie's voice imparts his love for it to the listener, his eyes convey the pain of Ireland and Barney drunk is a better banjo player than most men sober,it doesn't get much better !!! Alba Go Bragh agus Erin Go Bbragh !!!

I didn't know much about Ireland since my latest decision: to move to Dublin. I've learned wonderful things about this land, but the music is just something apart from all of it. This man, Ronnie Drew, has proven to have been one of the best singers I've ever seen around. I hope you're well, wherever you might be (afterlife, heaven....). RIP!!
