He can still win the GOP Nomination despite his campaign ending. The Majority of "Bound" delegates are not actually legally bound to McCain, or anyone else.

(1) Asking anybody living permanently in the US if they are Americans is a very bad example, since they may never plan on returning to their home country, and they may *WANT* to be considered* "Americans" to facilitate their attempt at integration...and to avoid deportation.
(2) Every Canadian I know takes great personal offense at being referred to as an American. Such is our legacy.
