Enemies of Reason Ep.1 (1 of 5)
BackPart One - Slaves to Superstition
Prof Richard Dawkins tackles the epidemic of irrational, superstitious thinking which is blotting the light of logic and evidence. After garnering tips on psychics' entirely earthly trade secrets from the illusionist Derren Brown, Dawkins attends a seance and confronts the medium. Time and again, the interviewees appeal to personal revelation or second-hand anecdote to justify their belief.

It saddens me that so many people willingly accept something with little evidence simply because it is comforting and easy to think about.

and also people may even accept the opposite outcome with little rational evidence, like when people go through deep depression.

Thanks for helping prove my point. His findings have endured the test of time and they are still foundational for studies done today. He was even considered to have had a greater impact on science and humankind than Einstein by the Royal Society.

They whine when we fight back because the see trying to stop them from forcing their religion on everyone else as interfering with their religious rights. A major part of Christianity is spreading the word and if you don't want to hear it then you're preventing them from practicing their religion. You can't win in a debate with them. They can't listen to it.

It is entirely religious people's fault that Athiests are bitter. Religious people come to my house to preach to me. They try to force schools to teach Christianity to everyone else's children and I could go on and on after all religious people do.

In God We Trust only became the motto during WWII. The original motto was E Pluribus Unum: From Many One. The original Pledge of Allegiance didn't have the word God in it either.

A man fighting for the rights of others is never a victim. Not until people like you drag them from behind your truck by a rope round his neck.
Better to be a fighter than an arm of oppression.

where did I say that man?
You're grasping for straws.
Choose love, not hate :)

Easy to say "choose love" when in a position of power over your fellow man. Not so easy when you're the man being stepped on by the one spouting about love, while stripping away equal rights.
Every 'fact' you have, I have refuted. Yet you remain in the 'right', because you think a majority vote should be able to strip rights from people. Where would we be, here in the US, if slavery had been put to a majority vote? We'd still own others.
Grow beyond your limited description of 'love.'0

you haven't refuted anything. It's like we're seeing two different things here man.
I'm not for stripping away gay's right to marry, and I've stated that before, and yet you push this false assumption about me.
This seems to be arguing for the sake of it.. heh
Peace.
