I've been there - that desperate moment of realization when you decide to stop believing the lies you've been telling yourself.. it's like taking yourself off a drug, an inner fight between self preservation/survival and breaking through to be yourself. Being yourself is a scary thing..sometimes it's easier to be whatever everyone else wants to you to be. That's how I see it, I guess...

This song is not about self hate. Its about betrayal. Psychological, physical, any type of betrayal. And yes, betrayal is tragically common.

I know that alot of people think this song is about her but sadly this song applies to more people thant you could imagine. It sad to know that some people are filled with self hate or ashamed of what they become. but it is always never too late to set things right, I know i had to change for the better.
