"While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,/And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;/Then in a wilful choir the small gnats mourn/Among the river sallows, borne aloft/Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;/And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;/Hedge -crickets sing; and now with treble soft/The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;/And gathering swallows twitter in the skies."

I prefer to compare these two poems; (Poet unknown)
"There once was a man from Madrass,
Whose balls were made out of brass.
When he banged 'em together,
They played Stormy Weather
And Lightning shot out of his ass."
Of course this is rather primative. The poet would later develop his style and prose and eventually composed this one:
"There once was a fellow McSweenie,
Who spilled some gin on his weenie.
Just to be couth,
He added Vermouth,
Then slipped his girlfriend a martini."

Certainly, with maturity and the gift of experience, Kissin became much more sensible, subdued, and refined in his approach to Liszt. In comparison with his later performances of the liebestraum, this youthful exhibition is like placing Keats' "Endymion" beside"To Autumn." That grand rush at 2:00 is far too strained, but when one arrives at it again in the 2007 Verbier performance, it is as perfect as,

Agreed.
2:00 is probably the only sub-par part of this otherwise exceptional performance.
He has definitely honed his technique over the years. But this generally pretty nice.
