No nothing like that whatsoever. His equipment turned out to be to heavy, he was heading down but he didn't mean to go so far down and was pulled down by his equipment.

I think he saw something... a parallel universe or something unnatural (unnormal) and when he reached down to get it or show it better, it turned out to move or start sucking him in... I think it was an animal .
