What is a staff ghost?

when you set a time on time trials it creates a "ghost" that recreates your exact route when you race against it. "staff ghosts" are ghosts created by staff members who worked on the game. when you beat the first staff ghost's time by a significant amount, it unlocks an "expert staff ghost" that completes the course much faster and is therefore much more difficult to beat. unlocking expert staff ghosts helps you unlock more characters and vehicles I think.

to an expert staff ghost time, you have to beat the original staff ghost with a time at least 7 seconds faster..... took me forever to figure that out...

i wonder if you get anything for beating all the EXPERT staff ghosts.......also, who else thinks they shouldve used thier miis instead of characters b/c i didnt know about dry bowser until i saw it in time trial
