Planting Potatoes
BackUsing the tiller to bust up two rows behind the house so I can plant potatoes. The potatoes that were planted are called butter and red skin potatoes.
The fertilizer is 13-13-13, pot ash from the bar-b-q pit and bone meal 0-10-0.
For updates on how the potatoes are doing, please visit the website.

I just harvested my sweet potatoes about two days ago. I got my plants from the sweet potatoes left over from my gp sweet potatoe pie (the potatoes that I used were uncooked of course). I soaked them in water for a few days and got around 5 plants per potato. Had so many I didn't know what to do. I got around a bushel and a half worth eating and around 3 bushels total. Didn't give them enough time I think

You should not mix Organic Fertilizers with Chemical Fertz.
Because Organic Fertilizers work by Microbiology breaking down the Manure into something the plant can uptake. And if you use the Chemical fertz it will kill the Microherd / microbiological life and fungus that help organic fertz.

I've been told the tiller kills all the worms. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Well that makes sense. Of course if you cut a worm in half it will regenerate and then there will be two worms :D

I will try to get some video.I have planted some now...

I put at least 2 ft thick as this will settle. When the potatoes start to show though the hay, I add more, about the same amount. You can also use dried seaweed if you live in a coastal area. The potatoes will grow on rocks this way!
