Fall of Autumn Filmstrip: Offset Printing

Back

Ever wonder how offset printing works? or when they're going to pull the plug on the internet?

**Thanks YouTube for making this an Editor's Pick/Featured HowTo and DIY video!**

This is the first filmstrip in a series Alan hopes to complete on the various printing techniques in use today. Blending education with ideology, the filmstrip presents a run down of the different parts and processes of the offset machine and talks with Eberhardt Press founder Charles Overbeck.

Edited and produced by Alan Lastufka. Cameraman: Joe Biel. Music: Sour Grapes and imadethismistake. Special thanks to Charles Overbeck. Distributed by www.fallofautumn.com

Great videos. They'll be appreciated in my Editorial class.

I love offset printing. I took a graphics class in high school where we learned the offset method. We were also responsible for making the school paper and football programs. I still have some and they look just as good today as when they came off the press.

I have looked at a couple of these "online design and order" sites, and the systems they use...most are unattainable for small startups like me. I offer excellent quality, and low prices. If I purchased one of these proprietary online ordering and design systems, the overhead alone (to pay for the system) would not be worth it. Why are these systems so expensive? I'm going to let you know what I think of yer site. Brb.

I just visited your site, kudos for starting up the way you did and making it to the top. And, congrats on your award as best printer 2004, 2005. I didn't see any of the products you offered online? Or, a price list?
Take a look at my print ship online, and tell me what you think. I'm interested to see what a veteran shop owner thinks of my site! :)

Kudos! I agree with this, and provide wholesale pricing (well, as wholesale as I can and still eat)because, like you (sort of, minus the anarchy thing maybe)I hate that some companies mark up their prices so much...for the same thing I sell for much less. Making a living, and ripping people off because they're uniformed, are two different animals. I believe small mom and pop shops should be able to get the high quality printing the big dogs do...

Good Stuff, I was looking for screen printing but this was very informative. I work for an embroidery company that also does printing but it's on shirts/ apparel. Lots of similarities between the two.

Very nicely done. I've worked in the printing trade 31 years and I think you've done a great job.

I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Do you have a famous or infamous ancestor? Please check out my latest clip.
